Miek van Dongen (1970) works as a gestalt therapist in private practice in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Miek was originally trained as an artist. Interested in the crossroads between different disciplines, she experimented in several directions, such as body play in the 90’s, different types of digital and printed media and audiovisual performance. She started training in gestalt therapy and integrative psychotherapy in Holland and Belgium, and proceeded her studies at international training institutes, such as at the Istituto di Gestalt in Italy, IpsiG and in ongoing study of phenomenology with Dan Bloom. In addition to working with clients, she’s currently involved in doing workshops and teaching, in which gestalt therapy, philosophy, art, and her own illustrations are combined.
