She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Case Western University and her master's degree in Developmental Psychology from The Ohio State University. She is the author of the internationally known book "Cognitive-Behavioral Play Therapy" (Jason Aronson, 1993) published in Italian in 1998. She was the first to study the application of cognitive behavioral therapy on young children. In addition to her book, she has published many chapters in edited books on play therapy. These include a recent chapter on the treatment of young children with anxiety disorders. She has lectured throughout the United States regarding Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy (CBPT) with preschool and school-age children. As a clinical psychologist, she has been practicing for more than 25 years with assessment and therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents and adults. In addition to her clinical practice, she has extensive experience in research and training and development of other mental health professionals. She is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University, where she supervises and teaches doctoral students in the Department of Psychological Sciences.
